Besides the backlink boost techniques I listed in my previous entry, there are several other ways to boost our backlink count:
1) Twitter. Posting new tweets with links to your site will help exposing your URL to the Twitter community, and every Twitter post will also count as a nofollow backlink (see Yahoo backlinks).
2) Create web templates, Blogger skins and/or Wordpress themes. These kinds of services are linkware, thus everyone who uses your template will automatically link back to you.
3) Social Bookmarking.
4) Article submission to free article directories. It works like for the web templates, because articles are linkware for those who want to republish them.
5) Purchase nofollow links from blogs and websites. It's important that they are nofollow, because if they aren't you'll go against Google guidelines and will risk to be banned.
6) If you have more than one site, link back to your main site and viceversa. Build your own backlink network!
