More words on Web Hosting Geeks

on Tuesday, November 30, 2010
I know I have filled you with articles about Web Hosting Geeks countless times, but I want to conclude this day with a few more words about this huge web hosting directory I have been frequenting for over a year.

I'm sure not many of you know that the above mentioned directory does categorize hosting providers by some bonuses they give to new users, especially when such bonuses include free domain names. Yes, that's right: on Web Hosting Geeks you will find a free domain names category with a rich list of web hosting services who provide... well... a domain for FREE together with the hosting plan you will purchase. :)

Same argumentation could be made for providers that allow forum hosting, which are not so widespread as many may think.

In conclusion, all I recommend is to read well, and read everything on a web hosting directory, because the service you're looking for might be hidden there, under one of those 'minor' categories.

Hosting directories make the difference: WebHostingRating.com

on Monday, November 29, 2010
I have a certain fascination for web hosting directories: if anything, they turn out to be extremely useful whenever I get stuck on evaluating a hosting provider for my needs.

There is nothing more frustrating to a webmaster than to see his/her money go to waste on the wrong service: perhaps what we need is unmetered bandwidth, and instead our host turns out to be metering it; we may need unlimited subdomain creation, on the contrary our provider does put a limit on how many subdomain we can put up. No, that is NOT how it should work.

Web hosting directories come to our rescue, because they show us first hand ratings and testimonials from people who REALLY used the service and can thus recommend or discourage other users from signing up on certain hosting providers due to their scarce service or support. That's the power of community for you.

Web Hosting Rating is one of those directories that can make the difference. When you see something like this:

then you can be certain: you have found a reliable service that can suit your search for great features on a low budget!

The above page is for WebHostingPad, but there are countless services that you may look up to evaluate how and if they suit your needs, as well as a precious hosting guide to avoid scams and get the best out your provider. As well as their actual trustworthiness.

To try.

The Webmaster way to Online Revenue: Method Integration

on Tuesday, November 23, 2010
Since when I started my learning process to become able to use SEO and other web marketing techniques efficiently, I have been considering the integration of several methods that may help a potential webmaster (in this experiment, me) earn a substantial revenue from his/her online activities.

Here is a list of methods and techniques that I found especially productive within the last three years of experimentation:

~ Social Link Exchange: this is a kind of natural and positive link exchange that is very well seen by Search Engines. It is 'social' because reciprocal linkers engage in productive conversations on each other's website, and maintain a strict contact. This is not spam, this is the way the Web was meant to be in the first place.

~ CPA Publisher Network: there is nothing as efficient as a very well thought CPA campaign, for advertisers, and definitely very financially rewarding for the website owner who can play his/her cards well. A smartly placed ad on your sidebar could lead to thousand dollars in your CPA panel. In this category, you should also consider setting up an email newsletter: it's well known that newsletter subscribers are top ad clickers. Remember: people will always be curious about and click when they get what they want and they are interested in.

~ Blog Advertising Networks: for webmasters who proudly run a blog with juicy stats, writing blog posts for a commission may be the key to earn a substantial monthly income. Of course, advertisers are interested in quality, not just in quantity, and definitely not just in statistics. To be able to blog for money, you need to make sure your writing skills and your approach to blogging fall within the 'serious' and the 'high'. Think of how unpopular magazine reading would be if writers were to write in the most slipshod way.

~ Link Selling: be it rel=nofollow tagged or traditional linked, a text link sold always means fixed monthly revenue until the advertiser cancels his/her campaign. This is a proven method, and if done intelligently, it can turn out extremely useful to your readers, and definitely not spammy in the eye of search engines.

Web Hosting Geeks: the news

on Tuesday, November 9, 2010
I have written about Web Hosting Geeks last year, on December, featuring the website in a Spotlight entry here on my blog. Honestly, I must admit I have kept on following the updates of this huge web hosting directory on the past months, because it underwent several changes, as well as new ratings added.

To start off, users of the directory seem to have changed their mind on the top ranked web hosting providers: InMotion and Web Hosting Hub now occupy the first two top places, respectively, while BlueHost was pushed down to 9th place. I wouldn't be surprised: price/quality ratio for these two hosting businesses does simply over-rank that of BlueHost.

Also, there were new contents added to the main site menu. Domain Names, SEO and SEM, Best Blog Hosting providers... and that's only a small portion of the new site addons. I find it not just useful, but also user-catching that Web Hosting Geeks is now offering advice to webmasters, and not just ratings and reviews. It's well known that Internet users love the community feeling, and friendly places, and that's exactly what Web Hosting Geeks does offer now.

I look forward to major news and upgrades from this directory.
